hidden/woe

my dearest, what have you sent through the breeze?
it’s bitten me,
sharp fangs perforating my nape
and now i can’t stop thinking about you
i’ve climbed down the stairs to look
searched for you in the garden
even ruptured a few roses in exasperation
— but you remain hidden
deliberately elusive
playing games that no longer amuse me;
i beg you
to reveal yourself
so i can scold you a little
and then kiss you right after
it’s been an eternity
since you bit my lip, and made it bleed
please, sir
come here and puncture me
again and again
so i can taste my own blood
and know that you exist
